iDevices Switch Review- Wi-Fi Enabled Plug

iDevices Switch – Wi-Fi Enabled Plug Works with Apple HomeKit and Amazon Alexa

I recently purchased this iDevices switch from Amazon to control lamp at our kid’s nursery. This easy to use connected plug allows you to control, monitor and schedule electronic appliances throughout your home using your iDevices Connected app along with Siri or Alexa voice commands. Currently it works with  iPhone, iPad and iPod touch only.

It is competitive in terms of pricing with other smart plugs. This works with your wireless network hence no need of hub.

Look and Feel

Switch looks pretty cool with sleek design and it has nightlight which you can switch on or off from app. It comes in a nice packaging with instructions.

Installation:

Most of the steps in installation were pretty simple and straightforward . During middle of installation I started to get error message because my iCloud keychain was not on. It was kind of frustrating and it is better if you switch on icloud keychain from settings. Otherwise steps were pretty simple and I liked that app was able to scan serial code of switch via camera and I did not have to type it.

Performance:

So far it has been working great for us and my wife has been raving about it. She can use her phone to switch plug at our infant’s nursery on or off anytime and does not have to move. Response time of switch is good.

Works with Siri:

Yes you can use siri to operate switch and nightlight. Whether Siri will understand what you are saying is a different issue 🙂
